How to Request a Replacement Card for Bluebird

If your card is lost, stolen or has been used to make fraudulent purchases, you will have to request a new card from American Express.

When you call customer service to report that your card is lost or stolen or has been used to commit fraud, customer service will cancel the card and issue you a new one.

Customer service will verify your identity, cancel your previous card and issue a replacement card.

Your replacement card will be mailed to you for free. It will arrive via USPS first class mail delivery in 7-10 business days.

You can pay an additional fee for Expedited Shipping through FedEx. The fee will be deducted from your account. If you choose expedited shipping, expect your card to arrive in 3-4 business days.

You will receive a confirmation email once your card has been shipped. That email will be sent to your email address on file, so make sure the email address you have on file is the one you want them to send your shipping confirmation to.

You can also request a replacement Bluebird card online.

"How American Express Bluebird Fraud Protection Works"

Your Bluebird card comes with protections against unauthorized transactions. However, for your card to be covered under the Bluebird fraud protections, there are steps you have to take when you find out your card is compromised, lost or stolen.

Here are the terms and conditions that come with the Bluebird Card regarding fraud protection, as stated on the Bluebird Website:

To be covered Bluebird’s fraud protection, it is important to call customer service immediately if you believe someone has transferred or may transfer funds from your Account, Family Account, or SetAside Account without your permission.

You should also call customer service immediately if you believe your Card or Family Account Card has been lost or stolen, or if you believe that an electronic fund transfer has been made without your permission using information from your Account or Bluebird Card or, where applicable, Family Account or Family Account Card, or your SetAside Account.

You will not be liable for goods or services fraudulently purchased through your Account or Family Account, but you may be liable for other unauthorized use of your Account, Family Account, or SetAside Account.

You will not be liable for unauthorized use that occurs after you notify Bluebird orally or in writing, of the loss, theft, or possible unauthorized use.

If you tell Bluebird within two (2) business days after you learn of the unauthorized use, you can lose no more than fifty dollars ($50) if someone used your Account, Family Account, or SetAside Account without your permission.

If you do NOT tell Bluebird within two (2) business days after you learn of the unauthorized use, and Bluebird can establish that they could have stopped someone from using your Account, Family Account, or SetAside Account without your permission if you had told them within such time period, you could lose as much as five hundred dollars ($500).

If there is a problem with your Bluebird statement, you need to call Bluebird immediately.

If you do not inform Bluebird within sixty (60) days after the statement is made available to you, you may not get back any money you lost if Bluebird can prove that they could have stopped someone from taking the money if you had told them within the 60 day period.

If you cannot notify Bluebird within the 60 day period due to a good reason (such as a long trip or a hospital stay), they may extend the 60-day deadline.
