Bluebird Customer Service Phone Number

This post is about the American Express Bluebird Customer Service Phone Number. We have the number below. But we want to focus on the customer service issues card holders are experiencing when they call the toll free number and how you can get a live person on the phone.

If you have any questions or issues using your Walmart Bluebird Card, you can call customer support toll free at 1 (877) 486-5990. If you are  out of the country, you can call collect at 1 (801) 449-4016. Customer support agents are available 24/7 to help you with your questions. As you can see from the image below, American Express is advertising that you can call them anytime, even at 2AM with questions about your Bluebird card.

However, the reality for some cardholders have been different. Yes, you can call at 2AM but are you going to get the help you need? Are you going to be able to speak to a live person? Are the support agents knowledgable? Can you understand them when they speak? Based on our own research, which we have detailed here, American Express needs to improve the customer service that is currently being provided for this card. Some of the issues can easily be resolved if there were clear rules that can be easily accessed regarding the card. A lot changes have already been made regarding the Bluebird card, and cardholders have questions regarding the following:

  • What are the Direct Deposit limits?
  • Why does it take so long for Direct Deposits to show up on the card?
  • Why is there such a large hold on the card when you pay for gas at the pump- and it takes forever for the hold of funds to be released?
  • What are the limits to how much you can transfer from a linked checking or savings account?
  • Can you really direct deposit government benefits like Social Security?

Answers to these questions can be found on the FAQs section of the card website, which can be found here. But you have to dig for the information – which is why people call customer service to get the information – and become frustrated when customer service is not available or unhelpful.

I HAVE BEEN WAITING TWO AND HALF WEEKS FOR MY CARD AND I HAVE NOT RECEIVED YET.

Rudest customer service agent I ever dealt with. I called about a replacement card and ask for the card to be sent to a new address which is on my license the agent gave me a story of me having to do a bunch of unheard things that I did not understand. After questioning her about it she said “we’re American Expresss” …. Upon asking for a supervisor she hung up.

I recently disputed a $57 charge to my bluebird account. I didn’t recognize the charge. When I did it was for a ju jitsu course that I unsubscribed to early on two times. American Express Bluebird paid them anyway. Thanks a lot American Express.
The email course is still coming from the ju jitsu people…I have sent cease and desist emails to them numerous times …all correspondence to them is ignored!

When I call the 1-877-486-5990 number there is NOT an option to speak with a actual customer service rep. I NEED TO SPEAK WITH AN ACTUAL PERSON, NOT A RECORDED LINE. I need to dispute some charges on my card!!!

  • It’s been long I requested for a bluebird card but I haven’t gotten mine.
    What could be the problem?
